Miller joins Stuart Powell Ford in Danville

Chris Miller recently joined Stuart Powell Ford-Lincoln-Mercury and Mazda in Danville as finance and insurance manager.

Miller has been in the automotive business in various positions from sales to sales management and finance since 1985.

Prior to coming to Stuart Powell Ford in Danville, Miller was employed for many years with the Don Jacobs organization in Lexington.

Miller and his wife, Rickie, have two children and live in Garrard County. They are members of the Lancaster Baptist Church.

Dotson named financial consultant at Hilliard Lyons

Darryl W. Dotson has recently joined the Danville office of Hilliard Lyons as a financial consultant.

Dotson will oversee wealth planning activities on behalf of existing clients, working with Mike Perros, Chartered Wealth Advisor and manager of the Danville office, and Kathy Fletcher, assistant branch manager.


Dotson has been affiliated with Hilliard Lyons for three years. He began with Hilliard Lyons in Louisville where he was a public finance associate, providing debt service and cash flow solutions for municipal bond issuers. He also worked in the compliance department where he investigated customer complaints and analyzed trade reports, commission statistics and account documentation. Dotson is also licensed in life, health and variable life insurance.

Dotson earned a J.D. degree from the University of Louisville School of Law in 2000. He received his undergraduate degree in economics and philosophy from the University of Kentucky.

Dotson currently resides in Lexington with his wife, Kimberly.

The Danville office of Hilliard Lyons was opened in 1921. Hilliard Lyons is a nationally known regional investment firm with offices in more than 120 cities.

B & M Smith Garage opens in Danville

The B & M Smith Garage has opened at 6865 Lebanon Road in Danville.

Bruce and Missy Smith are the owners and managers of the new garage, which offers equipment and repairs for cars, trucks, tractors and farm machinery. They sell and install Jasper engines and transmissions, do complete brake repairs, air conditioning service and repairs, exhaust repairs, and welding. The business also paints tractors and does minor auto body repairs. They also service and repair chainsaws, trimmers and lawnmowers. They can pick up and deliver lawnmowers, most tractors and some cars and trucks.

The Smiths bring 20 years of experience to the new business.

Garage hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (859) 236-9613.

Bostick joins local dentistry practice

Howard Strauss, D.M.D., P.S.C. announces the addition of a new associate, Dr. Chris L. Bostick.

Bostick is a 2004 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and will be joining Strauss in his dentistry practice at 129 Daniel Drive in Danville.

Danville BPW elects new officers

Danville Business and Professional Women recently elected new officers.

The officers are Regina Swartz, president; Ann Hamlin, vice president; Vicki Engle, secretary; and Judy Clark, treasurer.

Horn joins NESCO Resource as branch manger

Sheila Horn has joined NESCO Resource as branch manager overseeing the Danville and Lawrenceburg branches.

She will be responsible for continuing the growth of those locations as well as exploring expansion opportunities.

Horn previously served as membership director at the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce.
