Casey fair queen title goes to Pulaski teen

LIBERTY - A Pulaski County teen was named Miss Casey County Fair during a pageant Monday.

Brittney Collett Shoap, 19, daughter of Mark Shoap and Tammy Bastin, both of Somerset, received the crown.

Iris Nicole Peyton, 18-year-old daughter of Bill and Beverly Peyton of Hustonville, was the only contestant from Casey County that placed in the pageant. She was second runner-up.

Other runners-up were: Skye Squires, 16, daughter of Dwayne Squires and Donna Patterson of Campbellsville, first; Alison Renea Cain, 20, daughter of Joe and Peggy Cain of Russell Springs, third; and Britney Susan Hadley, 19, daughter of Darrell and Patsy Hadley of Jamestown, fourth.

Russell County contestants took top prizes in the Little Miss and Mister Casey County Fair pageant.

Winners were Morgan Paige Stephens, 6, daughter of Elmer and Juanita Stephens of Russell Springs; and Braxton Earl Mann, 7, son of Rick and Susan Mann of Russell Springs.


Second runners-up were MaKayla LaNae Scales, 6, and Brayton Conner Scales, 5, children of Tony and Angie Scales of Russell Springs.

Third runners-up were Hannah Renee Anderson, 5, daughter of Damion and Dana Anderson of Russell Springs, and Justin Todd Womack, 5, son of Joe Todd and Tanya Womack of Russell Springs.

Winners in the haybale tossing contest, listed by category, and first, second and third place, respectively, were:

Women: Karen Ellison, Liz Maples and Tira King.

Men: John Russell, Josh Richardson and Lester Owens.

Youths: Spencer Wright, Jordan Ellison and Andrew Durham.
