Mercer zoning panel elects officers

HARRODSBURG — Greater Harrodsburg/Mercer County Planning and Zoning Commission elected officers Monday for the upcoming fiscal year.

Robert Lewis was named chairman; he replaces C.L. Riley who held the job for the current fiscal year. The vice chairman will be Bob Upchurch, and the treasurer will be John Goodlett. The three will take office July 1.

The commission’s next meeting will be 5:30 p.m. July 6. The panel normally meets on the first Monday of each month, but July 5 is a county holiday.

Magistrates to meet with committee

HARRODSBURG — Mercer County Fiscal Court will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Joint Jail Committee in the Fiscal Court offices to discuss changes in jail funding.

The meeting, originally scheduled to be held at the Boyle County Courthouse, has been changed to accommodate Mercer County Judge-Executive John Trisler’s request that the Mercer court meet with the committee. The committee is the governing body for the Boyle County Detention Center. Boyle and Mercer counties share the costs for the facility.

Junction City Council — 7 p.m. at city hall to discuss the budget and restrictions on manufactured homes.

Due to incorrect information from the Danville Police Department, the address of a residence where a purse was taken was wrong in Monday’s paper. The purse, belonging to Tiffany King of Junction City, was taken from a residence at 116 Circle Drive in Danville.
