Truck hits gas line in Perryville

PERRYVILLE - A Harrodsburg man told police he wasn't driving the truck that hit a high-pressure gas line here Thursday night, but police said he was the only one in the vehicle.

Boyle County sheriff's officers arrested Gregory Boynton, 43, of 1000 Johnson Road, on a charge of alcohol intoxication.

Traffic was rerouted after the accident. The gas company worked on the one-inch line for nearly two hours until the gas was squeezed off at 12:10 a.m., according to Atmos Energy.

Boynton was still in the Boyle County Detention Center this morning.

Deputy Merl Baldwin made the arrest.

Perryville and Boyle County volunteer fire departments and Perryville police also responded.

Lexington man faces drug charge

HARRODSBURG - Mickey P. Goins, 29, of Lexington, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of intoxicants Saturday by Harrodsburg police officer Jason Eldridge.


Police said they found marijuana in Goins' vehicle during a traffic stop. Goins later was released from the Boyle County Detention Center on a $400 bond.

Theft reported; arrest made

HARRODSBURG - Virginia M. Wright, 54, of 344 Midland Court, reported to city police that tools had been taken from her home. An investigation revealed that Ronnie Dale Morris, 51, of 418 W. Broadway, allegedly had possessed the stolen property, a socket set valued at $200, and pawned it at 127 Gun & Pawn.

Morris was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center where he later was released on 10 percent of a $2,000 bond.

Charges filed against Harrodsburg woman

HARRODSBURG - Lisa Alsman Taylor, 39, of 208 E. Factory St., reported to city police that someone she knew had assaulted her just minutes before Officer Josh Devine arrived at the scene at about 1:15 p.m. June 4.

Police said Taylor had a faded bruise on her arm that allegedly was at least two to three days old. Taylor admitted she had lied about the incident, police said.

She was arrested on charges of falsely reporting an incident, resisting arrest and menacing. She was later released from the Boyle County Detention Center.

Man allegedly threatens deputy sheriff

HARRODSBURG - Garry A. Jones, 49, of 213 S. College St., Apt. 2, was arrested following the report of a prowler at 220 E. Poplar St.

Police said he threatened a Mercer County deputy sheriff and Harrodsburg officers. He was charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and disorderly conduct.

He was released from the Boyle County Detention Center on 10 percent of a $4,000 bond.

Motel window reported broken

HARRODSBURG - Scott Edward Sandberg, 30, of Economy Inn Room 108, reported to city police that someone broke a window pane and "messed up his room" early Saturday morning, according to a police department press release.
