My family moved to Lancaster in 2000. We wanted out of the big city and the traffic. We love living here on Price Court, our neighbors and the school. The only problem I have not been able to resolve is the speeders that travel daily on this dead-end street, some of them several times a day.
After speaking with the police several times and even with Mayor Moss, my neighbors and myself were told specifically to get a petition for speed bumps and to have the residents of the street sign the petition. According to the mayor's office, this request is up for debate, but according to the The Advocate-Messenger, the city council and the mayor are more worried about "opening a can of worms" or the possible damage to snow removal trucks than the safety of the children on this street. To be told that Mayor Moss would support this idea and then to have him back down during the council meeting tells me that the people of Lancaster are not his top priority, the same can be seen with a council member that has relatives living on this street.
