Weight loss classes offered

McDowell Wellness Center will offer a way to lose weight with its HMR Weight Management Program, a 12-week program that will help individuals lose weight and learn the skills to keep the weight off long term.

HMR is an intensive diet and lifestyle education program that teaches individuals how to eat properly and exercise to lose weight. It is a complete weight and health management program that provides decision-free dieting to participants.

Individuals may learn more about the program by attending a free orientation session at noon June 17, 24 and July 1 and 8, and at 5 p.m. June 21, 28, and July 5 and 12.


Each one-hour orientation session will be held at McDowell Wellness Center, 1107 Ben Ali Drive. The next class begins July 13.

Elliott-Haggard family reunion Saturday

Friends and family of the late Dillard Elliott, Sadie Rayborn and Arvil Haggard are invited to a reunion at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sidell Conservation Club in Sidell, Ill.

Danville-Boyle County Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Danville city hall. The date was wrong in Sunday's paper, due to a news clerk's error.
