STANFORD - A Lincoln County grand jury recently indicted four people, including a man on charges of the non-violent rape of a female under the age of 16.
Joseph Brown, 25, of 312 McKinney Ridge Road, is accused of coercing a girl without using force into having sex with him. The minor's statement to police alleged that in January and February, Brown repeatedly asked her to have intercourse with him. When he offered her a ride to his relative's house in February, he took her instead to Murphy Road. She reportedly agreed to intercourse at that point for fear he would force her.
Brown has been charged with third-degree rape and is scheduled for arraignment June 30. The minor was the grand jury witness.
Also indicted include:
* Richard L. Adams, 40, 1645 Peck Hollow Road, Hustonville, is accused of growing four marijuana plants, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Lincoln Deputy Sheriff Ronnie Smith was the grand jury witness.
