Two women hurt in Liberty crash

LIBERTY - Ida B. Thomas, 71, of Trammel Street, was taken to Casey County Hospital Wednesday afternoon for injuries after being hurt in a two-car crash, police said. She reportedly suffered hand and facial injuries and was having chest pains, according to police.

The accident occurred as Thomas was driving south on Hustonville Street and attempted to make a left turn onto Trammel Street as a car driven by Stephanie L. Scott, 27, of 5292 W. Ky. 70, was headed north on Trammel Street, Chief Ron Whited said.

Scott was reportedly taken to a hospital by private vehicle.

Liberty police probe break-ins

LIBERTY - City police are investigating two break-ins that occurred Friday night at residences.

Chris L. Weddle, Lebanon Road, reported that someone broke the glass in his patio door off the carport, and came into the house early Saturday morning while the family was asleep.


Police Chief Ron Whited said a purse and contents, along with two children's scooters, were stolen.

Officer Brian Allen is investigating a break-in at the Acoya Thomas residence at Scott's apartments on Trammel Street. The intruder came in the front window, and made off with more than $2,250 worth of items including a Playstation, compact disc and stereo equipment, and more than 120 CDs.
