Bike missionaries visiting Stanford

STANFORD - Wheel Power Christian Cyclists will be staying at Grace Fellowship Church at 90 Fairgrounds Road, Stanford. They will be visit in the community during the day, and at night, they will lead a three-day revival beginning at 7 p.m. each night the church.

The group's founder, Judy Bowman, of Lynchburg, Va., is a full-time missionary. Wheel Power is an acronym for Witnessing, Helping, Evangelizing, Encouraging and Loving as we Pedal Our Way to Eternal Rewards. This year marks Wheel Power's Christian Cyclists' eleventh mission journey across America. They left San Francisco May 7 and are scheduled to arrive in Yorktown Beach, Va., July 10. So far on this trip they have had more than 360 opportunities to witness, 87 salvations, and 15 flat tires.

Hope Independent Church - 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church on 805 Maple Ave. The Gospel Diamonds of Lexington will perform.

Beechfork Baptist Church - 6 p.m. June 27 at the church on U.S. 68 in Gravel Switch by The Compassion Quartet.

Eagle's Nest Church - 7 p.m. Monday at the church in Parksville. Performing will be the Praise Singers from Irvine in a Father's Day Gospel Sing. There will be a special gift for the oldest and youngest fathers in attendance. For more information call 854-3228.


Fort Logan Church of Christ - 9:30-11 a.m. June 28-July 2 at 304 Lee Drive. The theme is "Discovering Bible Treasures." The following subjects will be addressed: the Treasure of the Precious Book Divine, the Treasure of a Golden Deed, the Treasure of a Loving Father, the Treasure of a Faithful Servant, and the Treasure of the Gospel. The school will be divided into two parts each day. The first will consist of 50 minutes of classroom instruction, while the last 30 minutes will include singing and recitation. Hedgeville Baptist Church - 6 -8:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday at 4700 Lancaster Road. This year's theme is "the Far out, Far east, Rickshaw Rally- Racing to the Son." The program will include Bible stories, crafts, Japanese inspired music, unusual snacks and recreation. Children between 3 years and sixth grade are invited to attend. Parksville Christian Church - 7 p.m. each night, Sunday through Thursday. There will be a closing program at 6 p.m. Friday. Transportation is available by calling (859) 236-1219. Adults are welcome and a nursery will be provided.

Pleasant Run Baptist Church - 6:30 -9 p.m. June 21-25 on Forkland Road. This year's theme is Power Up for Jesus.
