LANCASTER - Former Class A Player of the Year Gordon Crowe is one of eight nominees eligible for election to the Garrard County Football Hall of Fame Class of 2004.
The nominees also include former Garrard coaches Jerry Perry and Jeff Hester, former Lancaster High School standout Marshall Johnson and five other former Garrard players.
Crowe, a 1996 Garrard graduate, was the 1995 Class A player of the year. He played in the Kentucky-Tennessee All-Star Game and played four years at Kentucky where he appeared in 46 games. Crowe spent two years playing professionally in the German Football League and is currently a defensive lineman with the Lexington Horseman in the National Indoor Football League.
This year's Hall of Fame class will be picked at the July 12 meeting of the Lion Pride Football Alumni Association, the sponsor of the Hall of Fame. The four new members will be inducted at halftime of the Hall of Fame Game between Garrard and Harrison County Aug. 27.
