Farm Service Agency Notes
* July 1 is the final date for signatures to be completed for the transfer of tobacco pounds by lease or sale for the 2004 crop year. Tobacco quotas can only be maintained by leasing or growing two out of every three consecutive years. If you fail to lease or grow one year, the previous year carryover pounds cannot be guaranteed to be 100 percent.
* To be eligible for direct and counter-cyclical payments and for burley tobacco marketing, a full crop report is required by July 15. Sept. 30 is the final date for sod grass, crustaceans, Christmas trees, fin fish, ornamental nursery and floriculture. A fee of $32.25 will be applied to all late-filed reports.
