STANFORD - A Lincoln County deputy sheriff was sent to the hospital for neck and back pain June 16 after his cruiser was struck by a man fleeing police in Lincoln and Garrard counties.
Deputy Ron Luster was treated and released at Fort Logan Hospital after chase suspect Lorne R. Keith, 26, of Nicholasville, reportedly struck Luster's vehicle.
Keith was reportedly being chased by Lancaster police in Garrard County early that morning after he allegedly struck a road sign near the corner of Ky. 34 and U.S. 27, causing property damage, and refused to stop for police. Lancaster police officer Russell Preston proceeded to follow Keith, who was allegedly smoking marijuana during the flight.

Keith was later followed by the Garrard County Sheriff's Department as he crossed into Lincoln County on U.S. 27, traveling in excess of 92 miles per hour. After driving on the wrong side of the road, he attempted to strike the police cruisers several times. Keith reportedly hit a cruiser while going approximately 70 miles per hour.
