Resurfacing will begin Monday at the intersection of U.S. 150 and the U.S. 127 bypass in Danville.
The state Transportation Cabine said the work should be completed by Aug. 1.
This project will consist of removing the existing pavement surface and replacing it with a four-inch concrete surface. Work will begin on the southbound U.S. 127 section followed by the northbound U.S. 127 section and will conclude with eastbound U.S. 150. During the project, one lane will be resurfaced at a time and it is anticipated that each lane will take approximately two days to complete. All work is weather dependent.
The $166,220 project has been awarded to Hinkle Contracting Corp. of Lexington.
There will be no work during the July 4 weekend. Appropriate traffic control devices will be in place to assist motorists through the construction zone.
