It's nothing new for LG&E Energy's Economic Development Team to promote Kentucky with site selection consultants and real estate professionals nationwide. But this year's efforts - which include an effective postcard campaign - have a special twist.
To demonstrate the strengths of communities served by LG&E Energy's subsidiaries - Louisville Gas and Electric Company, Kentucky Utilities Company and Western Kentucky Energy - the 2004 campaign features 11 such communities, including Danville/Boyle County. The series focuses on key strengths and best-kept business secrets.
"We were looking for attributes that would gain the attention of site selection consultants seeking new locations for business investment," said Alan McGinnis, manager of economic development. "The postcard campaign is just one phase of our economic development strategy. We participate in many other marketing initiatives including trade shows, prospect missions, industry ally events and developmental seminars. But the postcard campaign offers an additional resource to reach a national audience of economic development decision-makers."
