Area weddings for June 27

Sherrill Hopkins and Charles H. Johnson were married April 17 at Summerville Baptist Church in La Grande, Ore., by Franklin Humber.

Carrie Callender of La Grande served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Bonnie Gellatly of Spokane, Wash., and Trish Hansen of La Grande. Flowergirls were Jordan and Annie Gellatly of Spokane, Wash.

Jason Hansen of La Grande was best man. Groomsmen were Joseph Gellatly and David Moody, both of Spokane. Ringbearer was Joy Moody of Spokane.


The bride is the daughter of Bob and Karla Hopkins of La Grande and Don and J.J. Moody of Spokane. She a graduate of LaGrande High School and International Correspondence School. She is an elections deputy for Union County, Ore.

The groom is the son of David and Marge Johnson of Danville. He works as certified nursing assistant in La Grande.

They will live in La Grande.


Rachel Elizabeth Leffew and Kurt Ashley Abbott were married May 22 at the home of Jerry and Elsie High in Forkland by Jimmy Owens.

Amanda Leffew of Danville served as maid of honor. Katheryn Lark of Lancaster was flowergirl.

Jeremy Curtis of Winder, Ga., was best man. Nathan Castro of Danville was ringbearer.

Leffew is the daughter of Jayne Leffew of Junction City. She is a 1998 graduate of Boyle County High School and employed at McDowell Wellness Center.

Abbott is the son of Robert and Kathy Abbott of Danville. He is a 1996 graduate of Boyle County High School, a 2001 graduate of Campbellsville University and is a landscaper.
