LIBERTY - The Casey County Hospital has purchased two properties for future expansion.
The hospital has signed contracts to buy the Frank and Karen Kinnaird property that includes three lots and a house on Sanders Street. The cost is $150,000. The second piece of property, on Office Street, was purchased from Clyde Goodin Jr. for $52,850. Deeds for the property were filed in the county clerk's office last week.
"We decided to buy the property when it became available," said hospital Administrator Rusty Tungate. "We'll find something to do with it."
Tungate said there was not much room near the hospital and Primary Care Center for future growth.
The hospital, which is located in a residential section on Wolford Street, has bought two other nearby residential properties in recent years.
