HARRODSBURG - A Mercer County man is in fair condition in a Lexington hospital following a shooting near his home Sunday night.
Robbie Hines, 29, of 595 Bruners Chapel Road, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center from James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Mercer County Deputy Sheriff Chris Edwards said he was dispatched to 600 Bruners Chapel Road about 7:30 p.m. Sunday to investigate a disturbance between neighbors. He reports that as he was driving to the scene, a car traveling at a high rate of speed passed him headed in the other direction.
Edwards said he believed the vehicle contained one of the parties in the dispute, and he turned his cruiser around and gave chase. He said he caught up to the vehicle on Mackville Road just inside Harrodsburg's city limits.
