Robin Houston, 43, of 357 Holtzclaw Lane, was charged with four counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. He is being held in Boyle County Detention Center under a $40,000 cash bond.
Assistant Danville Police Chief Jay Newell said officers were called to a complaint of a man with a gun in the parking lot of Parkview East Apartments about 2:15 p.m.
Four officers responded and began questioning people in the vicinity, Newell said. When Robin Houston was questioned, he "attacked" the officers, Newell said. Three additional officers arrived to help take Houston into custody and he kicked out the window of a police cruiser, Newell said.
Newell it is not yet clear if Houston was the man mentioned in the original complaint. No weapon was recovered, he said. "We're still working on all the details," Newell said.
