Three arrested in Boyle drug round-up
The Boyle County Sheriff's Department said Saturday that three people have been arrested in an ongoing drug sweep that began Friday.
According to Deputy Brian Wofford, the charges include trafficking in a controlled substance, cultivation of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The department has also recovered an assault riffle, Wofford said.
The bust was started in part due to various complaints and tips about suspected drug activity received by the department, said Wofford. Other area law enforcement agencies are also part of the investigation including the Garrard County Sheriff's K-9 unit, the Harrodsburg police department, the Boyle County Attorney's office and the Commonwealth Attorney's office.
