Otis M. Hasty Sr.

WAYNESBURG - Otis M. Hasty Sr., 89, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Thursday at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born May 3, 1915, in Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late Andrew Hasty and Willie Alice Johnson. He was the widower of Nora Ethel Hasty.

He was a retired employee of RCA Electronics, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Kings Mountain Christain Church.

Survivors include a son, Otis M. Hasty Jr. of Indianapolis; two sisters, Helen Miller and Christina Hasty, both of Kings Mountain; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


Services are 1 p.m. today at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. Vola Brown. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

Anita F. Herren

LEBANON - Anita Foree Herren, 80, of Bradfordsville, died Thursday at her home.

Born April 25, 1924, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Elizabeth Coleman Foree. She was the widow of Chester Ray Herren Jr.

She was a retired loan officer at Hustonville Bank.

Survivors include a daughter, Emily Gibson of Bradfordsville.

Services are 2 p.m. today at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home by Gary King, Robert Judd and the Rev. Nick Coleman. Burial will be in Old Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Warren E., Ronnie, Ricky and Johnny Foree, Roger Reid and Stanley Burris.

Honorary pallbearers are Herbert Sharp Jr., Ronnie Price, Dr. David George, Billy Smothers and William Stafford.

Memorials may go to Hospice of Central Kentucky.

Emilie K. Hester

STANFORD - Emilie Karol Hester, 22, died Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. She was a daughter of Beulah Carr Hester of Stanford and the late Donald "Sneeze" Hester. Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.

Lillian D. Jones

LANCASTER - Lillian D. Jones, 81, of Lexington Road, died Friday at her home.

Born July 2, 1923, in McCreary County, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Hill Laxton. She was the widow of Callie Jones.

She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Kenna Arnold of Garrard County.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Walter Lee Arnold. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Pauline M. McGinnis

HARRODSBURG - Pauline Margaret McGinnis, 87, of Moreland Avenue, Harrodsburg, died Friday at Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born July 15, 1916, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Lula Bagby Judd. A homemaker, she was the widow of Daniel McGinnis.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles H. McGinnis.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth M. VanArsdall of Burgin; two sisters, Aileen Lucas and Lucille Peach, both of Louisville; four brothers, Howard Judd and Edward Judd, both of Greensburg, James Judd of Sandwich, Ill., and Robert Judd of Marengo, Ind.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Alma Catlett and the Rev. James Byrd. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Troy and Eric McGinnis, Rich Pictor, Wayne Russell, Billy Humphrey and Ray Lathrem.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and prior to service Monday.

Catherine "Irene" Vanoy

LIBERTY - Catherine "Irene" Vanoy, 87, died Thursday at Russell County Hospital.

Born March 3, 1917, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Corda and Emma Taylor. She was a housewife and the widow of Edward C. Vanoy.

Survivors include three daughters, Ramona Armstrong of Louisville, Scarlett Marotta of Nashville, Tenn., and Dina Vanoy of Liberty; two sons, E.W. and Tim Vanoy, both of Liberty; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Weldon Ray Vanoy, and two daughters, Janice Stayton and Bonita Denson.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home by Norman Larson. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Greg Allison, Waylon Roberts, Chad Atwood, Jim Taylor, Joe Neagle and Shelby Taylor.

Visitation is after 9 a.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home.


Margaret H. Cox

PERRYVILLE - Services for Margaret Hafley Cox, 83, of Forkland, are 2 p.m. today at Sycamore Church of Christ by Larry Barker. Burial will be in Elder Cemetery in Casey County.

Born Feb. 13, 1921, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Calip and Nettie Redford Hafley. She was a homemaker and a member of Sycamore Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Beeler Cox; three daughters, Nettie Laverne Rice and Shirley Westerfield, both of Gravel Switch, and Beulah Rice of Parksville; one son, William Carol Cox of Gravel Switch; two sisters, Geraldine Greene of Lebanon and Sarah Overstreet of Florida; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are Gary Westerfield, Jimmy Rice, James Cox, Jeff Harrison, Wesley West and Bruce Robbins.

Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren, great-grandhcildren and Brandon Robbins.

Visitation is after 8 a.m. today at Wilder Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. at Sycamore Church of Christ.

Margaret E. Overstreet

Funeral services for Margaret Egger Overstreet, 80, of White Oak Road, Junction City, are 2 p.m. today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral by the Rev. Barry Harmon. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

She died Thursday at her son's home in Danville.

Born June 18, 1924, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Graf Egger. She was the widow of J.C. Overstreet III.

She was a retired employee of Servomation and a member of Mount Freeman Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Overstreet of Junction City, John C. Overstreet of Chadron, Neb., and Dr. David Overstreet of Danville; two sisters, Marie Jackson of Shelbyville and Freida Fields of Jenkins; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Joey Harris, Clyde Matherly, Jeff Matherly, Brodie Overstreet, Andy Overstreet and Richard Weaver.

Memorials may go to Mount Freeman Baptist Church.
