LEXINGTON - Kentucky junior cornerback Bo Smith sustained an injury Friday night and is listed in fair condition at the UK hospital, according to a release from Kentucky.
Because of privacy issues, no further information was released, but WLEX-TV in Lexington reported Sunday night that Smith was hit in the head with a baseball bat during an altercation in Louisville.
Smith started seven games and made 57 tackles last year.
"We are very concerned for Bo and his family and hopeful for quick progress in his recovery," UK coach Rich Brooks said. "At this time, our first concern is for his health and his playing status will be determined at a future date."
