STANFORD - McBride Preservation Services, with approval of the National Park Service, will hold a public meeting to determine the community's vision for the Logan's Fort battlefield 7 p.m. Monday at the Historic Depot. The public is strongly encouraged to attend.
McBride Preservation Services will then prepare a community consensus-based preservation and management plan for the Battle of Logan's Fort. When the plan is completed, it will be submitted to the American Battlefield Protection Program of the National Park Service, the Kentucky Heritage Council, the Lincoln County Fiscal Court, the city of Stanford and to the Logan's Fort Foundation Inc.
The Logan's Fort site is one of the first three permanent settlements in Kentucky, and the location of a Revolutionary war engagement with American Indians in 1777. It has been deemed National Register eligible at a National significance level.
