Stony Point Baptist Church - Sunday at the church on Old Lexington Road. The Rev. Marshall, associate minister of First Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, will speak at 11 a.m. and the Rev. Virgil Hill, pastor of First Baptist Church, will speak at 3 p.m. Dinner will be served after the morning services.


Cedar Ridge Baptist Church - 3 p.m. Sunday at the church on Hwy. 150 between Stanford and Crab Orchard. The Hunt Brothers will sing at a gospel music service.

Missionary of the Hope Independent Church - 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church at 805 N. Maptle St., the Male Chorus of First Baptist will perform. For more information, call Margaret Calhoun at (859) 936-2115.


Ellisburg Baptist Church off Hwy. 78 in Casey County will hold a gospel singing at 6 p.m. Sunday. The singing will feature Bill and Marsha Williams.

Log Cabin - noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, annual gospel sing on Bowen Road three miles south of Junction City. Attendees should bring a chair, and the event goes on rain or shine with nine featured groups. For more information, call (859) 236-3208.


First Baptist Davistown Church - 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Men and women's day. Guest preacher will be the Rev. H.K. Taylor.

Buena Vista Baptist Church - 10 a.m. - 12:30 P.M. Saturday, "Back to School, Back to God Bash." There will be food and games for children and youth. The church is located at 3381 Kennedy Bridge Road in Lancaster.

Harrodsburg Baptist Church - 11 a.m. Sunday, the church will celebrate the 165th anniversary of its founding with special services. A meal will follow the service. Special speakers include Ann Carrier, the wife of the Rev. Wallace Carrier, who was pastor from 1957-1970; George Ellers, son of the Rev. G. Whitcomb Ellers, who was pastor from 1932-1944; and the Rev. Bill Willham, a Harrodsburg native who was ordained by the church.

The church was founded in 1839 and the first pastor, the Rev. William Vaughn, had a charter congregation of 12 members. Over the years, the church has grown to a membership of over 1,800 members, helped establish several churches in the county and has been involved in and supported mission and ministry efforts around the world.

The current pastor, the Rev. Robert DeFoor, came to the church in 1979 and shares ministerial responsibilities with the Rev. Eddie Russell, minister of music; the Rev. Rick Snyder, minister of youth and education; and Larry D. Camic, minister of recreation and outreach.

Junction City First Baptist Church - 2-4 p.m. Sunday, a retirement reception for the Rev. Ernest Martin and his wife, Fern Martin. The reception will be held in fellowship hall. Refreshments will be served.


Parksville Knob United Baptist Church - 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2-4 p.m. Saturday. There will be a closing ceremony at 6 p.m. Sunday. All children aged 3 and up are invited to attend. For more information call (859) 236-0052.
