LIBERTY - The 34 employees of a local company got a surprise Friday when they came to work. They were told to get their belongings and go home. The place was closed.
Image Entry, a data processing service, which opened in November 2003, closed its doors, apparently without explanation. The data processing company, which had its operation set up in Liberty Square shopping center, shut down the business and has moved everything out.
When Image Entry opened, it apparently leased the building for a year and had planned to look for a larger facility and eventually hire up to 150 people. At that time, the company had employed more than 700 people in Kentucky. Since then, the company sold to Source Corp. in Texas.
Efforts to reach top officials with Image Entry, which had 10 other locations in the state, have failed. The Monticello office referred the calls to Richard Bledsoe, general manager, who is out of his office until Friday.
