Free clothes offered

Community Friends Outreach will give away clothes from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Temple Church, 205 Otter St. Infant through adult sizes are available. For more information, call (859) 236-3454.

Yard sale fees waived in Lancaster

LANCASTER - Residents will be able to set up sales in their yards without paying the usual fee during yard sale days Aug. 6-7 and the next weekend, Aug. 13-15, which is the same time as the U.S. 127 Yard Sale. The City Council waived the fees at Monday's meeting.

Wellness Center offers free screenings

McDowell Wellness Center will host a Wellness Weekend from 9-11:30 a.m. Aug. 14. Individuals who join the Wellness Center that day will have their enrollment fee waived. Other features are free screenings for cholesterol, glucose, height, weight, body fat, blood pressure and bone density. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call (859) 936-9355.



Hustonville Elementary School Council - 3:30 p.m. Friday at the school library.


Loretta White's name was incorrect in the National College of Business & Technology's dean's list published Sunday. White, of Hustonville, had a 4.0 grade point average. The name of Regina Williams, of Junction City, also was wrong due to incorrect information received from the college.
