Jewelry, gun and cash taken in burglary

Danville police are investigating a burglary that occurred about 1 a.m. Wednesday. Lanius Ellery of Citation Drive told police someone took several pieces of jewelry, a 9 mm pistol and cash from his residence.

Police also are investigating a Monday burglary at Jerry Kilby's residence on Ridgefield Drive. Several power tools were taken, police said.

Casey teen injured in crash

LIBERTY - Jason Harris, 18, of Liberty, was injured Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on Henson Ridge Road four miles south of here, state police said.


Harris was treated for injuries at Casey County Hospital, then released, according to a report by Trooper Mike Woodrum.

Harris was driving west when his 2002 Volkswagen went out of control on the wet pavement, Woodrum said.

The vehicle slid into the path of a vehicle driven by Edwin D. Davenport, 48, of Liberty.

Davenport was not wearing a seat belt; Harris was belted.
