This letter is in response to the article, "Hustonville clerk wants more Inmate supervision."
This letter is not to judge Lorraine Warner but just to express my opinion and share my experience. My husband and I own a farm supply business and also have had experiences with the work release program at Lincoln County Regional Jail. We see inmates regularly as they work with the recycling center and pick up our boxes and other items regularly. In my experience without exception, the inmates I have come in contact with have been nothing but respectful and kind. They also have used my bathroom, and, yes, I am in the office while the bathroom is in use. I have never felt fearful in any way because of that situation.
My heart goes out to these inmates. I am sure they have made mistakes for them to be in jail. We all make mistakes - some worse than others but without exception we've all made them. It would do us all good to remember we are all equal in God's eyes.
