City Commissioners broke into a skirmish about who should represent the city on a joint sign committee with Boyle County Fiscal Court.
In a split vote, the commissioners nominated Mayor John W.D. Bowling, City Commissioner Terry Crowley and Realtor Mary Ann Hollon. Crowley voted against it, along with Commissioner Jamey Gay, but not because he didn't want to serve.
Crowley and Gay said that they believed the committee should consist of three commissioners and three magistrates. Crowley said that he thought the elected officials should decide together when and how to invite members of the public to sit on the committee.
Gay said that he wanted to serve on the committee. Commissioner Chester Kavanaugh said he wanted to be on the committee, and that he already knew a lot about the ordinance because he used to sit on the planning and zoning commission.
