A Boyle County grand jury recently handed up indictments against 10 people, including Lawrence Peyton of Danville on charges of rape, sodomy, assault and burglary.
According to the indictments, Peyton, 28, of 508 Longview Drive, was armed with a knife when he broke into a Boyle County woman's house on March 14 and forced her to have sex. Peyton also stabbed the woman with a knife, the indictment charges. He also is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property less than $300.
According to the indictments, Peyton is charged as a persistent felony offender because he has been convicted of attempted rape, burglary and theft in Jefferson County.
Commonwealth's Detective Cindy Corcoran testified before the grand jury.
Others indicted were:
* Jovan Fischer, 24, no address available, charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, second-degree burglary, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The indictments allege Fischer sold cocaine in Boyle County in April 2002 and that he broke into Jamie Phillips' house in June 2003.
