Church plans barbecue sale

St. James AME Church will have a barbecue sale from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. For delivery, call (859) 236-3241.

Obedience class is Saturday

Danville-Boyle County Humane Society's free dog obedience class for August is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Boyle County Fairgrounds.

Anyone who has adopted a puppy or dog from the Humane Society may participate free of charge.

Pet must be on a leash. For more information, call the animal shelter at (859) 238-1117.

Mercer Farm Bureau sets annual meeting

HARRODSBURG - Mercer County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Lions Park. A meal will be followed by a business meeting and youth and variety contests. Meal tickets will be provided at the door.



Danville-Boyle County Board of Adjustments - 10 a.m. Thursday at city hall to discuss Marcus and Kim Hawkins' variance application for the rear yard setback at 110 Walker Court.

Danville-Boyle County Planning and Zoning Commission - 9 a.m. Wednesday at city hall to discuss minor plats for Todd Young on Old U.S. 150, Joseph Gorham on West Lexington Avenue, James Pendegrist on White Road, and Marlin Taylor and Bart Johnson on Webster Road; final plats for Candlewood and Wandering Hills; final plat amendment on Bluegrass Chase Farms; preliminary and final planned unit development for Barber Chidester and Wilson Properties; preliminary and final planned unit development for an office building on Daniel Drive; zone change hearing on LGL Partnership on South Third Street.


Helen Gallager is the deceased sister of Frank Edward Fowler. The information was wrong in his obituary in Wednesday's paper due to incorrect information given to the newspaper.
