I have watched recently how the Planning and Zoning Commission has intentionally chased off progressive improvements in the Danville area. Every time they stop a business from coming to Danville because of their ridiculous sign ordinances, they cost this area jobs and an increase in tax base.
Now the P&Z czars are trying to close the Old Crow Inn and its sale of beer. I, for one, have not and probably will not purchase beer or wine from this business but that does not preclude the fact that a few goodie-goodies are trying to eliminate growth in our community.
This is wrong and is in direct defiance of the wishes of the general population and their voting to allow businesses to sell and promote beer and wine in our community. It is time for the P&Z to back off and allow progress to continue in our community. Quit scaring off the major restaurants by having ridiculous signing ordinances, stop harassing businesses that are catering to the desires of the general population of the area. If the people of this area were against the sale of beer at the Old Crow Inn, there would be no line of cars in his parking lot six days a week trying to purchase his product.
