Additional child pornography accusations have been made in Boyle County against former teacher Mark Starr, who remains in custody on related federal charges.
Kentucky State Police Detective Chris Crockett filed criminal complaints against Starr, charging him with "producing, directing or promoting, through one form or another of digital photography, a sexual performance by a minor" and intent to distribute digital images portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
Starr is already under indictment in Boyle County for use of a minor in a sexual performance and tampering with physical evidence. He also faces 11 federal counts that accuse him of possessing and producing images of young girls engaged in sexually explicit conduct for interstate distribution and other related charges.
Starr, 33, taught at Boyle County Middle School for four years before being fired in March after two students complained that he videotaped them as they changed clothes in a classroom at the school. Starr was served with Crockett's latest complaints at the Fayette County Detention Center, where he is awaiting trial on the federal charges. He has pleaded not guilty, and an Oct. 4 trial date has been set for U.S. District Court in Lexington, but Starr is reportedly considering a plea bargain.
