Literary magazine seeks submissions

VERSAILLES - A new literary magazine with a Christian world view is asking for submissions for its first issue, planned for January 2005. Submission deadline for the inaugural issue is Oct. 1.

Branchworld Journal is a publication of Branchwood Christian Literary Project Inc., a nondenominational, nonprofit literary organization whose mission is to stimulate greater interest, knowledge and awareness of Christian literature, art and photography throughout the state, nation and world.

The magazine will be printed twice a year and will run between 40 and 80 pages. Submissions should reflect a Christian world view or expand upon Christian or Bibilical themes or ethics. They must be original work which is previously unpublished.

First Baptist Church, Perryville - 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The church will celebrate its 137th anniversary. The guests are the Rev. Robert Blyth of First Baptist Church, Richmond, and its choir and congregation. Dinner will follow morning service.


Ellisburg Baptist Church - 6 p.m. Sunday. The church is on New Paved Highway of Brodhead.


Junction City Worldstown Road Church of God - 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Speakers are the Revs. Floying Thompson, Dallas Johnson and Kelly Burchett. Church is at 640 Worldstown Road.

Chesnut Grove Church of Christ - 7:30 p.m. nightly, Monday through Friday. The speaker will be James McDonald.

Second Street Christian Church - 7 p.m. Aug. Monday through Friday. D.J. Ward of Main Street Baptist Church in Lexington will speak.


Lincoln County Chargers - 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at J.C. Power House. Churches, organizations, youth leaders and anyone who wants to be involved in the group's 2005 planning are welcome.
