Randall D. Atwood

LIBERTY - Randall D. Atwood, 51, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Tuesday at Hospice of Cincinnati.

Born Aug. 19, 1953, in Cincinnati, he was the son of Marie Cochran Foister of Oklahoma City, Okla., and the late Hershel Atwood. He was a carpet installer and a Baptist.

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle J. Webster of Dry Ridge; five brothers, Donald O. Atwood of Franklin, Tenn., Garland Atwood of Hamilton, Ohio, Darrell Atwood of Moss, Tenn., and Michael Atwood and Bucky Ford, both of Oklahoma City; and a sister, Linda Holland of Blue Ash, Ohio.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Tapscott Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donald, Garland, Darrell and Michael Atwood, Bucky Ford and Ken Holland.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday.

Donna Russell

LIBERTY - Donna Russell, 83, of Liberty, died Tuesday at Casey County Hospital.


Born Sept. 7, 1920, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Vina Atkins Roy. She was a homemaker, a member of Church of Christ and the widow of Gilbert C. Russell.

Survivors include two sons, Dallas and Eugene Russell, both of Liberty; a daughter, Linda Murphy of Shepherdsville; a sister, Docie Goodin of Liberty; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bartle Funeral Home by Wayne Galloway. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brad Craig, Brent and Scott Russell, Robert Tolliver, Keith Copper and Robby Murphy.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Harold W. Sanders

HARRODSBURG - Harold Wayne Sanders, 60, of Ewing, died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington. Arrangements are incomplete at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

Edna D. Southworth

GEORGETOWN - Edna Dorene Southworth, 80, of Danville, formerly of Georgetown, died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born May 10, 1924, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Edna Fightmaster Scott. She was a former bookkeeper for John B. Penn, Ruth Paving and the city of Danville, and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Ockerman of College Place, Wash.; a son, Edward G. Southworth of Danville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home by the Rev. Van Firestine. Burial will be in Raven Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Danny and Freddie Towles and Mike Purdon.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.

Elizabeth S. Spears

CRAB ORCHARD - Elizabeth Spoonamore Spears, 79, of Crab Orchard, died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born June 2, 1925, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Eunice D. Adams Spoonamore. She was a retired nurse's aide, having worked for Stanford House nursing home, and a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Luther T. Spears of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Linda Spears Trute of Big Rapids, Mich., and Cathryn Spears Petrey of Crab Orchard; a son, Steven Spears of Crab Orchard; two sisters, Ruth Brown and Ann King, both of Ohio; three brothers, David and Calvin Spoonamore, both of Ohio, and Tommy Spoonamore of Crab Orchard; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at McKnight Funeral Home by Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dallas and Jamie Petrey, Dusty and Lonnie Spears Jr., Claude Bowen and William Tucker.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.


Jim Trachsel

Services for Jim Trachsel, 63, of Boone Trail, will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church by the Rev. W.A. Curwood. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Sunday at his home.

Pallbearers will be David Lee, Mike Whitehouse, Donnie Whitehouse, Danny Shoemaker, Jared Shoemaker, Tom Riley, David Hancock and Michael Gibson. Honorary pallbearers are members of Civil Air Patrol and Doug Mounce.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials may go to Danville Schools Scholarship Endowment Fund, c/o Patsy Clevenger, 152 E. Martin Luther King Blvd., Danville.
