Danville girls claim 4-1 win at Marion

LEBANON - It didn't take long for Danville's girls to get on the board Wednesday, and the Admirals kept the offense coming in a 4-1 win over Marion County.

Freshman Tasha Milby scored her second goal of the season in just the fourth minute off an assist from sophomore Jordan Davis.

Danville (3-1, 2-0 29th District) wouldn't score again until the second half, but the Admirals would get three goals in 11 minutes. McKenzie McAfee scored an unassisted goal in the 49th minute, Molly Pittman scored off an Alex Meckes assist in the 54th minute and Meckes took a Milby assist and scored in the 60th minute.

The Admirals took 24 shots to two for Marion (1-2, 1-1).

Danville hosts Boyle County at 8 p.m. Saturday.


Garrard County 9, Middlesboro 1 - At Berea, Jacob Denny had three goals and two assists to lead Garrard into the title game of the Berea Cup.


Denny scored twice in the first halfand once in the second as Garrard (4-0-1) rolled past Middlesboro. Justin Christian added two goals, and Will Ste-vens, Cory Horn, Jacob Wilson and Zach Doan each scored once.

Horn had two assists and Pat Kluesener added one.

Garrard faces host Berea in the championship game at 2 p.m. Saturday.
