Garrard courthouse to close Saturday

LANCASTER - The Garrard County Courthouse, annex and county attorney's office will be closed Saturday due to the annual Tobacco Festival parade and other activities.

NASCAR will be at Office Depot

Sharpie, a company that specializes in pens and markers, will present Kurt Busch's NASCAR, No. 97, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Office Depot.

Diecast cars, Sharpie racing caps and other NASCAR-related items will be given away. Concessions will be given away as well.

Habitat plans dinner Sunday

HARRODSBURG - Mercer County Habitat for Humanity will have Sunday dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at Harrodsburg High School. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-12. A donation may be given for children under 6.


Food for the meal is donated by Family Affair Caterers and local supermarkets.

All proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity.

Red Cross offers classes

The Red Cross will offer standard first aid classes from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday or Tuesday for $35 and recertification class from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 16 for $25. Babysitting and continuing education classes also are offered.

Ruritan Club to hold Friday fish fry

CARTERSVILLE - Cartersville Ruritan will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Cartersville Ruritan Park on Harmons Lick Road, off of Ky. 954. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Pike family plans reunion

The Pike family reunion will be all day Sunday at the Boyle County Fairgrounds. A potluck meal will be served at noon.
