The Hometown Tire Beat-the-Experts Football Contest will start next week.

Contestants will compete against a panel of experts to win weekly prizes and become eligible for the grand prize - a $250 gift certificate for any service or product at Hometown Tire of Danville - by predicting the outcome of college and area high school football games.

"We feel like this is a great way for us be involved in the community because of all the interest in football here," said Jon McWilliams of Hometown Tire. "We know the contest is a lot of fun for contestants and want to keep it that way."

McWilliams will be one of the regular expert panelists. Joining him will be Advocate sports editor Larry Vaught and Katie Jo Kirkpatrick, the executive director of the Boyle County Community Development Council.

Each contestant who beats the best expert each week will receive a certificate good for a free tire rotation service from Hometown Tire of Danville.

The overall weekly winner will receive a certificate for a free four-wheel alignment service, tire rotation and wheel balancing from Hometown Tire of Danville and be eligible for the grand prize contest. The grand prize contest will again be picking the winners in the college bowl games.

Entry blank for the contest will be in Monday's The Advocate-Messenger through football season. Contestants can also obtain an official entry form at Hometown Tire at 105 Thoroughbred Dr. Only official entry forms will be eligible for prize redemption.

The experts' predictions will be in Thursday's The Advocate-Messenger each week and winners will be announced each Monday.

Contestants can pick up prize certificates at the Advocate circulation department during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

The Hometown Tire Beat-the-Experts Basketball Contest will begin in December.
