Danville's Mike Martin won the first Hometown Tire Beat the Experts Football Contest because he thought Boyle County would score two fewer points than two other contestants - Jerry Potts of Danville and Danny Strevels of Stanford - who also had eight games right.
The contest was shortened to nine games when the Louisville at Tulane game was postponed after the contest entry blank was published.
Martin win a free four-wheel alignment, tire rotation and wheel balancing from Hometown Tire in Danville and is eligible for the season-ending grand prize contest that offers a 4250 gift certificate for any service or product at Hometown Tire of Danville.
Jon McWilliams of Hometown Tire and sports editor Larry Vaught each had seven correct picks as did five contestants. However, no contestant beat McWilliams on the tiebreaker score.
