Heritage Bank president resigns

September 22, 2004

The Board of Directors of Heritage Community Bank, a Danville, Kentucky-based full service bank, have today announced the resignation of bank president Rick Neikirk.

"After three of the most challenging and exciting years of my 27-year banking career, I have decided to pursue interests outside of banking," said Neikirk.

"Although my entire family has been warmly embraced by the people of Danville, all of us long for our home in Burkesville, where we will continue to reside."

The board of directors named Denise Smith interim president.

Smith, who will remain in her position as chief financial officer for the bank, is a graduate of the University of Louisville Undergraduate Banking Program.

She also completed the graduate school of banking program at Louisiana State University and received her associate banking degree from Paducah Community College.

A Danville resident, she has worked in the banking industry for more than two decades.

The board of directors also elected Bill Ruth, senior partner in the firm of William D. Ruth, CPA, as chairman of the board.

Already a member of the board, Ruth will continue in his full-time position with the accounting firm.
