Montgomery named to Bush team
Mardi Montgomery of Danville was named educators' co-chairwoman of the Bush-Cheney 2004 Kentucky leadership team. The team will work to promote President Bush's accomplishments and highlight the difference between his achievements over the past four years and John Kerry's record of on issues important to Kentucky.
Montgomery is deputy secretary of the Kentucky Education Cabinet. The leadership team is chaired by U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell. Gov. Ernie Fletcher and U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning are co-chairmen, and U.S. Reps. Edward Whitfield, Ron Lewis, Anne Northup and Harold Rogers are vice chairmen.
Casey gets money for forage program
The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board has approved $1,612,965 in agricultural diversification projects, including one in Casey County.
Casey County will get $50,000 of the $459,000 approved for six counties for county forage improvement programs.
The program improves pastures to enhance grazing by animals, reduce producer costs for feed and improve feed quality.
