LAWRENCEBURG - A 6-year-old Harrodsburg boy is dead following a collision Saturday 3.5 miles south of here.
State police say Joseph P. Shreve, 41, Lebanon, Ohio, was traveling south on U.S. 127 through a construction zone at 5:30 p.m. when his 2000 Ford truck crossed the center line and struck a 1993 Honda four-door driven by David Warner, 50, Harrodsburg.
Warner and his passengers, Paula Warner, 47, and Branson Warner-Cummings, 6, were transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center by Anderson County EMS. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital by the Fayette County coroner's office.
Shreve was taken to Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg where he was treated and released. He was arrested and charged with murder, second-degree DUI, operating on an expired license and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. He was lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center. Bond was set at $50,000 cash.
