Thomas H. Pauly

LEXINGTON - Dr. Thomas H. Pauly, a Lexington pediatrician, died Monday.

Born in Fort Mitchell, he was the son of Howard and Marian Pauly of Fort Mitchell. He was a graduate of University of Kentucky Medical School with a specialty in pediatrics and neonatology. He served as director of Neonatology at UK Children's Hospital and helped establish a neonatal intensive care nursery at Central Baptist Hospital. In 2000, he entered private pediatric practice.

Other survivors include his wife, Julie Sullivan Pauly; a daughter, Allison R. Pauly, of Lexington, formerly of Danville; two sons, Mackenzie T. "Mack" and Sam B. Pauly, both of Lexington; three brothers, Dr. James Pauley of Lexington, Robert Pauly of Crescent Springs and John Pauly of Fort Mitchell; and a sister, Nancy Brinker of Cincinnati.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Connie C. Lester

Services for Connie Campbell Lester, 87, of Chestnut Street, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Mathis. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

She died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by a son, Col. Ben Lester Jr.

Pallbearers will be Greg, Trent and Chris Lester, Paige Lester Davis and Bill Clayton. Honorary pallbearers are members of the First Baptist Church, Broadway, Dorcas Sunday school class and Rodney Harris.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to First Baptist Church, Broadway, building fund.

Carol E. Farmer

STANFORD - Services for Carol E. Farmer, 66, of Stanford, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Stuart Mason. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

She died Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Pallbearers will be Ross Carter, Aaron Farmer, Robert, Richard, James and Ronnie Crouch, Dale and Mike Oldiges. Honorary pallbearers are Mary Kay Godbey, Donna Campbell, Lori Burke and Ann Gardner.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to American Cancer Society.

Brenda O. Leigh

BRANDON, Fla. - A memorial service for Brenda Owens Leigh, 63, of Valrico, Fla., will be noon Saturday at Stowers Brandon Funeral Chapel. (The memorial service time was incorrect in a previous publication.)

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

She died Sept. 28.

Marie S. Messer

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Marie Fern Spangler Messer, 86, of Lancaster Avenue, will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home by the Rev. Bobby Brooks. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

She died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Tommy and Kevin Messer, Marshall Scott, Jim Adams, Joe Baldwin and Jerry Shelton. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Spangler, Douglas Peterson, Daniel Aviles and Aaron Sipple.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday.
