Staff Sgt. Brian Cool, son of Jack and Mary Shepherd of Danville, recently returned from duty in Kirkuk, Iraq. Sgt. Cool is stationed at Hill AFB, Utah.

Stephanie Ross Foy, daughter of Marie Bedinger was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7) on Sept. 16. She is currently stationed in Norfolk, Va. She graduated from Danville High School in 1985 and joined the Navy in 1986.
