Harrodsburg woman arrested on drug charges

HARRODSBURG - A Harrodsburg woman was arrested during a traffic stop Thursday after police alleged they found a crack pipe in her car.

Melissa J. Buck, 25, 795 Martin Lane, was charged with possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.

According to a Harrodsburg police report, Officer Jason Eldridge pulled over Buck's vehicle at the intersection of Main and Pearson streets while investigating a burglary. Eldridge saw a metal pipe in plain view, and Buck told the officer it contained crack, police allege.

Harrodsburg man nearly loses finger in fight

HARRODSBURG - One Harrodsburg man nearly had his finger bitten off during a fight, and another man ended up in jail, police said.

Simon Betancur, 34, of 473 Larue St., was charged with second-degree assault and placed in the Boyle County Detention Center.

According to a Harrodsburg police report, Divicio Perez, who also lives at 473 Larue St., "was bitten in his right hand and his finger was about bitten off." Perez was taken to James B. Haggin Hospital for treatment.

The fight occurred about 6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the men's Larue Street residence, police said.
