Medicare drug card to be explained

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Atlanta and the State Health Information Kentucky Partners will present a program on the "Medicare Approved Drug Discount Card" 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday on the Kentucky TeleHealth Network .

Local teleconference sites are at Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg and Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Patricia Harris, deputy regional administrator for CMS Atlanta, Region 4, will speak to inform Medicare beneficiaries about the current Medicare-Approved Drug Discount Card Program. Pre-registration is required, call CMS (866) 875-0813 or send fax to Judy Weaver at (404) 562-7255.

Blood drive set

National College of Business and Technology, 115 E. Lexington Ave., will have a blood drive 11:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m. Monday. The Central Kentucky Blood Center Bloodmobile will be located in the rear parking lot at the college.


Garden Club to dedicate garden

The Danville Garden Club will hold a dedication ceremony 2 p.m. Sunday for the Mary Gammon Akin Memorial Herb Garden at Constitution Square State Historic Site.

In case of inclement weather, ceremony will be held in the Grayson Tavern.


Danville Cemetery Committee - 5:30 p.m. today at city hall to discuss an operations report, cost of opening a grave, painting trash cans, maintenance committee, plantings committee and cemetery regulation.
