I write to express my support for and recommendation of Kevin Caudill in the upcoming, nonpartisan city commission election. As you may recall, Kevin served on the commission as an interim appointment upon the death of his mother, the late Nancy Caudill. From her, he learned to love and support the beautiful City of Danville, and he inherited the "common sense" approach to governmental decisions. From his stint as a commissioner, he learned the intricacies of the commission form of city government.
He is also my nephew, and I am very familiar with his devotion to his family and his involvement in the civic affairs of our community, especially the young people. From my 30 years as Boyle County Attorney, I think there are no greater qualifications for public office than a caring attitude and a common sense approach to problems. I think it is time to elect commissioners who are independent thinkers, free from influence inside or outside the commission, and who only have the best interests of our city and its citizens as a goal.
