AMARILLO, Texas - Danville's Elizabeth Lee-Floersch and Clover Bars Image, a 1982 chestnut gelding, will be among 43 contenders for the Sooner Trailer All-Around Amateur Award at the 2004 American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show Nov. 6-20 in Oklahoma City.
The award is presented to the amateur exhibitor earning the greatest number of points in a minimum of two categories and three events on the same horse in amateur competition. The winner will receive a three-horse Sooner Equine gooseneck trailer from Sooner Trailer, valued at more than $25,000. The Reserve All-Around Amateur will receive $2,500, with third through fifth-place finishers each receiving $1,000 from AQHA.
"The All-Around Amateur Award is the most prestigious title an amateur exhibitor can win at the AQHA World Championship Show and one of the most significant awarded by the American Quarter Horse Association," AQHA executive vice-president Bill Brewer said.
More than 3,000 entries are vying for 86 world championships and more than $2 million in cash and awards at the 2004 AQHA World Championship Show, the largest and richest invitation-only world championship horse show.
