Five charged in Lincoln meth bust

STANFORD - Five people were arrested Monday in Lincoln County by state police in a methamphetamine lab bust.

Angel Wooton, 24, 1011 Stanford St., apartment 3; Shon Berryman, 20, 8635 Ky. 643, Crab Orchard; Rick Bishop, 20, Bishop Road, Crab Orchard; and Melissa Bandy, 32, 3275 Ky. 2141, Stanford, were charged with first-degree manufacturing methamphetamine. Each was lodged in Lincoln County Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.

William Gilpin, 33, 1695 Pine Grove Road, was charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree manufacturing methamphetamine. He is in jail on a $20,000 bond.

The meth bust was at 1695 Pine Grove Road, where state police found two working labs inside a house and one in a car. When police entered the home, they allegedly saw Gilpin dumping meth down the bathroom sink.

Two charged in eat-and-run incident

HARRODSBURG - Two Harrodsburg residents were arrested Monday after they allegedly left a restaurant without paying for their dinner.

Johnathan McAfee, 22, of 351 Shawnee Drive, and Kelly Butler Stratton, 37, of 723 Moberly Road, were each charged with shoplifting less than $300. They were released from custody after posting bond, Harrodsburg police said.

According to a police report, McAfee and Stratton ate at La Fonda's Mexican Restaurant on Main Street and left without paying their $37.85 bill. The two told police that they left the money on the table, but witnesses said they never placed any money on the table and took the ticket with them when they left, the report stated.

Wire stolen from Harrodsburg business

HARRODSBURG - Harrodsburg police are investigating the theft of copper wire from a business early Wednesday morning.

According to a police report, someone cut a hole in the fence around Commercial Electric, 300 Marimon Ave., about 4 a.m. and took several large strands of copper wire valued at more than $200.
