HARRODSBURG - A man who had escaped custody three months ago was apprehended Thursday on Battlefield Road after running a car off the road, authorities said.
Kenneth R. Cook, 25, of 1555 Battlefield Road, had been on the run since July 23 when he escaped state custody, according to a Mercer County Sheriff's Department press release.
Several attempts to apprehend him by the Mercer and Boyle County sheriff's departments, state police and Harrodsburg Police Department had been unsuccessful until his capture.
Mercer Deputies Rick Moberly, Paul Parks and Chris Edwards along with state Trooper Michael Rogers apprehended Cook and charged him with second-degree escape. Cook was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center, awaiting transfer to state custody.
