LIBERTY - The city will get grant funds Monday to build a sewer line from the southern edge of town to Dunnville where Tarter Gate Co. is installing a new operation.
The check presentation will be at 9:30 a.m. at Central Kentucky Ag/Expo Center on U.S. 127 south of town.
U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, and Hilda Gay Legg, administrator of the USDA Rural Development Utilities Service in Washington, D.C., will be special guests. Other state and federal officials will be on hand for the event.
The project will extend sanitary sewer service to Dunnville to help the largest employer in Casey County better serve its customers, according to a press release from the city.
When completed, the sewer line will open a 12-mile corridor for future economic development projects along with providing the opportunity for service for businesses and residents located along the route.
